Bothell, Washington - Rosalie Carmella Capua Lockhart was born in Detroit (MI) to Jennie and Louis Capua. She grew up in an Italian cultural family with her parents, brothers, sister and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing (Detroit) in 1959. She was proud and dedicated in her career as a Registered Nurse for over forty years. During her life, she lived and worked in Detroit, Honolulu, Upper Marlboro (MD), Prosser, Yakima and Bothell. She always tried to live a Christian life, being honest, caring, loving and helpful. She was active in the Catholic church and loved volunteering her time in service to others. She developed deep and meaningful friendships at every stage of her life.
She is survived by her three children, David Lockhart and grandchildren Emmett, Lily and Thomas, James Lockhart (Katie Kouma) and grandchildren Erin and Alison, and Gina Lockhart McNab (Melodie) and grandchildren Nnamdi and Amara Iheke, her sister Carolyn (Dan) Bielak of Clarkston (MI), her sister-in-law Jan Capua of Virginia Beach (VA), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins in Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane, her parents Jennie and Louis Capua, and her brothers Camillo Capua and Paul Capua. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
Rosary and funeral Mass for the repose of her soul will be offered on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 12 PM at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Bothell, Washington, followed by a reception celebrating her life. Interment at Prosser Cemetery will be at a later date.
