Russell Gene Welker, 95, of Des Moines, Washington died on July 17, 2022. Russ was born on December 12, 1928, in Huntington, Indiana and attended Huntington High School. He graduated from Purdue University 1951 and married his bride, Connie, that same year.
Russ went on to become an engineer at Boeing where he retired in 1988 after 35 years. In addition to being a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Russ was a voracious reader, expert gardener, fisherman, golfer, tennis player, and world traveler. He was a fan of jazz music and Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Russ spent many years volunteering with salmon restoration.
Russ is survived by his wife of 70 years, Connie; sister Marge; three children Scott (Joanne), Jennifer, and Craig, along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
At Russ's request there will be no formal service at this time.
