Sage Andrew Linn Obituary

WA - Sage Andrew Linn (September 27th, 1975- October 19th, 2025) was one in a million, as it turned out so was his anaplastic thyroid cancer. After his prognosis of 3-6 months, Sage did what he always did and made the most of his time; and what any good lawyer does, their research.

If you spent any time with Sage, you would quickly know the things that were near and dear to him: family, college football, drinking great wine, cooking for those he loved, yard games, listening to his endless music playlist, reading on his kindle for hours, and doting on his girls (Ashley & Madelyn.)

Sage was the oldest of seven and the first grandchild in his family. Sage set the path for many of his family members to pursue college. After graduating Whitman College in 1998, he set off for law school at Washington University in Saint Louis and graduated in 2001. He practiced construction litigation and assisted with business issues.

Sage would say that going to Whitman College and making the friends that he did changed his life for the better. Many people reading this have been friends with Sage for decades and some just a short while. Regardless of the amount of time you spent with Sage, he was sure to make an impact. Sage had a contagious enthusiasm for life. He was the king of self-compliments and would want everyone to know that yes, he was a wordsmith, Super Lawyer (Seattle Business Magazine 2020-2024), salad genius, and amazing Dad. Sage was a loving husband and father and had so much to live for that he beat the odds and lived with an incurable cancer for 19 months.

In lieu of a funeral, Sage's widow Ashley Linn will be hosting a party to honor Sage's legacy on September 27th, 2026 at the University of Washington student HUB. Please email Ashley (Ashley_Linn85@outlook.com) for details to celebrate the funny, unforgettable, and brave human being that Sage was to all of us that knew him and to drink a good wine in his honor!

In lieu of flowers, Sage asked that people donate to Madelyn's education fund.
