WA - Shana McCormick passed away while in hospice care on December 19, 2025 from complications of a respiratory infection. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Shana was a 34-year-old woman who, despite significant limitations, charmed people with her friendly personality, smiles, and laughter. Shana loved the outdoors and relished the shining sun on her face, the wind in her hair, and the loud rush of a truck speeding by. She especially enjoyed music and responded joyfully to many favorite recordings and live performances.

Born in Santa Cruz, California on January 14th, 1991, Shana attended Enatai Elementary and Highland Middle Schools in Bellevue, Washington, as well as Franklin High School in Portland, Oregon while living at the Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children. As an adult, Shana lived at the Christine Minard Home in SeaTac, WA under the expert care of Integrated Living Services (ILS) until her death in December 2025.

Shana's parents and brother are grateful to the team at ILS who formed Shana's special family. Shana was seen and loved in fullness. The staff members provided full-time assistance for Shana's daily needs with loving kindness. Her caretakers honored her dignity and respected her likes and dislikes. She responded to their care with warmth and smiles.

Shana is survived by her parents Marsha Kabakov and Andrew McCormick and his partner Carol Carlson-Ray; her brother Gabriel McCormick and her sister-in-law Debbie Hinck; and her aunts and uncle and many cousins.
