Sharon Batters Peden Obituary

Sharon (Batters) Peden, born February 5th, 1943 in MN, passed away March 1st, 2023 in Kent WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don and her brother, Jon Batters. She is survived by her stepchildren, Patrick Peden and Terra Anglin of MT.

In her 20's Sharon ventured to Whitefish MT where she became an avid skier, and there she met her husband, Don Peden. In Whitefish she made many lifelong friends and created cherished memories. Sharon and Don moved to Seattle in the late '70s. In the '80s she worked in the travel industry and developed a love for globetrotting. Sharon later worked for Boeing as an administrative assistant until retirement.

Sharon was passionate about serving her community and her many friends. She enjoyed volunteering at the Kent Regional Animal Shelter, Kent Senior Center, the Kent Historical Museum, and multiple positions on her HOA board. A Master Gardener, Sharon also volunteered with the National Park Service. Her love for reading inspired her to start a Mystery Book Club, which survived Covid and is still going strong.

A celebration of life will be held at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 E. Smith St., Kent WA on April 29th, 2023 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to City of Kent/Senior Lunch Program, Kent Regional Animal Shelter or Kent Historical Museum.

Sharon, your many friends love and miss you.
