Teresa Maria Kaczynski nee Stanczyk-Jarzebska was born in the city of Skierniewice, Poland, August 2nd, 1950 and passed away November 21, 2024 in Granite Falls, WA.

She was married in 2009 to Wlodzimierz (Vlad) M. Kaczynski, currently retired Prof. of the University of Washington. Teresa met her husband in Warsaw - Poland in February 2007 during his first Fulbright mission to Warsaw Higher School of Economics (Szkola Glowna Handlowa - Warsaw Main School of Commerce). During Vlad's second part of the Fulbright mission in Poland that was assigned to the Warsaw Polytechnic their relations further cemented.

When returning to the USA, Vlad invited Teresa to his home in Granite Falls, WA.

After several months of Teresa staying with Vlad they married and lived together ever since.

Before coming to the United States Teresa graduated from Agricultural University in Warsaw (1972) with the degree of Agricultural Engineer and worked in the state agricultural companies. Later she registered to the training program in Warsaw sponsored by the European Union with objective to increase skills of the management personnel in Polish agriculture. Because of her husband Vlad's academic activities and also services for international organizations Teresa was frequently a part of these assignments. During Vlad's academic activity and missions overseas Teresa assumed the role of the photo-recording assistant. She covered her husbands' two Fulbright missions to Poland, Republic of South Africa, China, Chile (2 times) and also his research travel assignments of the Korean Maritime Institute to Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Brazil in South America and to Canary Islands (Spain) as well as to Senegal and Guinea-Bissau in West Africa.

Teresa was also very active in the University of Washington - related activities participating in various gatherings, meeting and holiday parties organized by the School of Marine and Environmental Studies. She also devoted a large part of her time serving many years as a volunteer in the Everett Community College helping immigrant students in their studies of English. Many of them were invited to Teresa's home to celebrate natural environment and tranquility surrounding her residence. Teresa has gathered a large number of pictures documenting her husbands activities in University of Washington and overseas. These are in a process of incorporating as a part in his academic-professional website.

Teresa is survived by the only daughter Julita with her two kids: Marceli and Kinga - Teresa's nephews all in Warsaw, Poland. She loved animals and wildlife including salmon seasonally migrating in the small rivers and lakes of her 9 acre residence in Granite Falls.
