WA - Verna J. McGifford passed away on December 26 in Kirkland, WA, at the age of 96. She was born Verna Jane Beach in Rolling Bay, Bainbridge Island, WA. She grew up on the island, where her family operated a farm and later a laundry and feed store in Winslow.
In 1952, she married Edwin G. McGifford, who preceded her in death, and together they made their home in Seattle. Verna is survived by her four children; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as a younger brother.
