William "Bill" J. Tibbits born December 5, 1929 in Brainerd, MN died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 12, 2024 in Seattle.
Bill is survived by Theresa his loving wife of 67 years; his daughters, Caryl Tibbits, Janet Tibbits, Kathy Dwinell, Kristy Tibbits; grandchildren, Mychelle Tibbits, Joseph (Kayla) Tibbits, Leif (Sarah) Ecklund, Mathew Dwinell, Michael Dwinell, Martin (Brittany) Dwinell; 4 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and William; brother, Raymond Tibbits; sister, Elizabeth Gleaton; and grandson, Christopher Dwinell.
Bill was in the United States Navy, then joined the Merchant Marines. He met Theresa in Seattle and they were married in St. Alphonsus Parish where he was an active member for over 60 years. He had a 50-year career in the Marine industry, beginning in sales and then started a successful distributing company. Bill was a man of faith who loved his family dearly. He was known for his sense of humor, optimism, and generous nature.
Bill will be greatly missed and will always be lovingly remembered in our hearts.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 25th at 11:00 am at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St, Shoreline, WA 98155.
