WA - William "Bill" Norman Snell passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's and cancer.
Born October 29, 1942, in Butte, Montana, to William and Gail Snell, Bill lived a life of kindness, curiosity, and love.
He graduated from the University of Montana in 1964 and its School of Law in 1967.
Bill began his career in Washington, D.C., with the Department of the Navy before settling in Seattle. There he met his first wife, Betsy, and served as Seattle's first City Hearing Examiner and a respected attorney.
He was known for integrity, fairness, and deep dedication to his community and clients.
A lifelong learner, Bill loved history, nature, travel, books, classical music, and fly-fishing Montana's rivers.
He married Judy in 2010, sharing with her 15 years of joy, companionship, and adventure.
Bill treasured his dogs, especially his Labradors, and cherished time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by Betsy in 2004 and is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Mark and Matthew; stepdaughter Shelby; their spouses; and grandchildren.
A memorial will be held Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds United Methodist Church.
